Patrons have a variety of reasons for seeking commissioned paintings. Sometimes it is as simple as needing to have a painting which matches their office or home decor, or a special size.  I am always happy to adjust my palette to create colors which are pleasing, or to have custom sized canvases made to suit your needs. I can use your wallpaper,paint color and fabric samples to create the painting for you.

Commissions are often requested of me for paintings of special places or subjects. If you would like a special painting, perhaps your land, a vintage cottage, a favorite place where you wish for a memory to be preserved, a river or waterway, coastal scene, or rural scene please contact me. I work very closely with my clients to produce a pleasing painting. I often do location studies which I enlarge in the studio for a finished painting.

Be advised that commissioned work is a real process between you and me. Many discussions about palette, composition and style will insure your satisfaction. Remember that I cannot see inside your head to know what you are thinking. You must be willing to give me clues and direction, and you must be patient enough to give me time to work toward a finished painting that you will love..

I do preliminary studies for commissioned paintings and I am always willing to make changes and revisions in order to please my client. A successful commission takes time and effort, so be prepared to pay more for a commission than a painting you buy off the gallery wall, and be prepared to pay a non-refundable deposit of 25%.
